I love your artistic talents. I had to giggle at the Patriotic Mistress. When we lived in NH, we bought a house and the home owner left us a flag! and this was the design on the flag vs others, of course because NH was one of the original 13. (shhhhh we took it to Canada )

Thank you! My normal handwriting is downright awful; my mom (taught by the sisters to have lovely penmanship) rolls her eyes every time she sees it. I have intentions to impart some nicer script to my children… we’ll see how that works. Our local schools just quit teaching cursive altogether, so at least I’ll always be able to say that they have better writing than their peers.

I completely love these drawings, so much so that even those this is, I think, only the second post I’ve read on here, I feel like you’re a kindred spirit… I even appreciated your use of the traditional initial lower case S from colonial handwriting, the lovely old G (which I use in my own writing because I hate the one they taught in grade school), and most importantly the lovely Americana-folk-style drawings, which remind me of little embroidery projects. Beautiful drawings of beautiful dresses (not to mention beautiful children!) and it all goes so beautifully with your header image on the aged parchment.

Okay, I hope all that gushing didn’t creep you out, because I mean it in the most sincere, non-creepy way… I just love it. Adding your blog to my RSS feeds.
