No, I am not either “a little late”, because Easter season extends until the feast of Pentecost. Lent may be forty days, but Easter is fifty days; in the Church year, the victory is always longer than the penitence and preparation leading up to it. (A wonderful teaching moment, there, about the length of the Lent of this life, compared to the eternity of victory in heaven for those who persevere in Christ… and, having eternity at His disposal, God is infinitely more generous in the length of the victory season.)
We played “social butterfly” all day yesterday, so I didn’t have time to post. In reply to popular demand, however, here are the results of the matching-dresses project. Mine looks like oldest’s dress, except it’s trimmed and tied in light purple… and it’s a lot bigger.
So, Happy Easter! Enjoy your chocolate, sweets, beer, whatever you gave up, while remembering why we gave them up: to remind ourselves that this world is so much less than the one to come.
